Yay! The Sun Came Back!
Dec. 22nd, 2005 11:16 am![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
Had a really good Yule yesterday, begining with the every-six-months-whether-we-need-it-or-not visit to the worlds coolest hairstylist. We made it a full family trip this time by bringing along the teenager, which she seemed to appreciate. I then drove her home so that
gmskarka and I could attend a cozy Yule dinner with yummy food prepared by
chernobylred. It was really nice to just sit and talk with friends that I am delighted to get to know better as the year passes, and I left feeling warm and happy. (Okay, that might have been helped by the port and the mulled wine just a bit...nah. :)) We got home in time for me to follow the Wednesday night ritual of watching Project Runway with the teenager, because watching bitchy wanna-be fashion designers cut each other to ribbons is always a good time. Meanwhile, Gareth went upstairs to begin installing a Yule gift for himself and Allie; a wireless internet system, so that she can go on-line using the computer in her room, instead of the one in his office. After the show, I proceeded to scrub the upstairs bathroom for the next two hours while Gareth was on the phone with the tech support people about the installation. (Nope, not kidding, he was on the phone for nearly three hours - but it works now. Yay.) Scrubbing the bathroom is not usually my idea of a good time, but I feel very accomplished when it's finished and looks all sparkly. I used a combination of baking soda and lemons to clean the tub, which is fun because it works really well, smells much better than your normal cleansers, and makes this cool chemical fizzy noise while it's working.
And just 'cos I actually went to the trouble of answering it, I will finish up with
