I wear black. I wear a LOT of black. I have worn a lot of black ever since I started buying my own clothes, which means for about 25 years now. Recently, within, lets say, the last year, I've made more of an effort to wear colour. Prettier skirts, etc... But I still wear black outfits, probably two to three times a week, to work.

I also wear ankhs. A LOT of ankhs. Daily. Have done for years.

Today, as in just a few minutes ago, one of my co-workers asked me if I was "Changing my style TO goth?" Because she had noticed recently that I had "started wearing a lot of black".

I have worked with this woman, in the same room, no less, for the last five years. We talk at least every other day.

Colour me amused. :)

Apparently, as of today, I have been working at this library for five years.

Huh.

Time does fly...

In sadder news, the center stacks elevator here, i.e. my favorite elevator ever (yes, I have a favorite elevator - deal with it), iz ded. Probably permanently. It was built in the 1930s, and it has cage doors, and a wooden floor, and these enormous black buttons that can hurt your fingers when you press them, and I will never get to ride in it again. *sob*

Dear Self -

It's the end of the day, your eyes are tired, and the article you just paged is titled "Volume Change Behavior of Dessicated SOILS"...not "Souls".

If you're looking to kill some time (around 15 minutes each) and enjoy library related film parodies, I have some video for you. These were directed by Chris Martin when he was a KU student. I didn't know him, I just think the films are kinda cool.

In home news, cleaning this weekend would have been greatly aided by having a working vacuum cleaner. Sadly, ours is in the shop. With two cats and a dog in the house, I am reallllllly missing it.

Teenager 2 and I worked front gate at KCRF on Saturday afternoon sans [livejournal.com profile] gmskarka, due to his feeling under the weather. (Boo.) We'll all three be out on Sunday mornings for the next two weeks, and probably wandering after our shifts so that EB can see more of the faire, as she has fallen hard for it. I'm enjoying the part-time participation thing quite a bit.

The rest of the weekend was spent in various attempts at cleaning and errand running, which aren't really all that exciting, but at least I feel like we got some stuff out of the way.
