Good Thing...
Nov. 7th, 2006 09:14 amI tried to vote early.
Our polling place is the teenager's high school, and since I drop her off in the morning at 7, I decided I might as well go in and vote, and avoid having to wait in line when I take
gmskarka later today. Alas, it was not to be, because I was foolish and allowed them to send me an advance ballot, which means that I must instead either vote at the court house, drop my advance ballot off there before the polls close today, or fill out a bunch of paperwork to do a provisional ballot at my polling place. Sigh. Silly human.
I could try and explain that I was thinking of it like the advance "ballots" that they send out in New Jersey, which are copies of what the ballot will look like so you can familiarize yourself with the candidates and issues before going to the polls. Which is what I was thinking when I signed up for it. Ah well.
Since I was already going to take care of name change paperwork over my lunch break, I guess I can just add this to the list of things to do. Also, I need to make sure that they don't send me any more advance stuff. I like going to the polls.
Whee.
