Random Thoughts of the Morning
Mar. 17th, 2005 09:32 amI must still be dealing with anxiety about having been let go (read here "fired") from my last job. I had a nightmare just before waking that the library had called me back and said, "Oh, sorry, it was a mistake, we didn't actually mean to hire you." Not pleasant. :( Very glad it's not true.
Watched "The Incredibles" last night for the first time. Really funny! And owes as much to James Bond as it does to any superhero story. I hadn't expected that aspect. It worked well.
And finally, I'm reading "The Catcher in the Rye" this week. Why? Because somehow, I managed to earn a BA in English without ever having read it. The vagaries of my education were such that I read "The Iliad" twice for school, once in high school and once at university, but never Salinger. The narrative voice reminds me a bit of "A Clockwork Orange", although I'm glad that Holden seems to be a nicer sort of boy.
