Birthday Stuff
Turned 39 last Saturday. So far, I seem to be lacking the sense of Impending Doom that women are told we are supposed to feel at this age. Perhaps it will hit next year? Of course, coming from a family that likes to do things like sneak into your yard and post GIANT SIGNS proclaiming your 40th birthday, perhaps it's best not to be bothered too much. :)
Faire Stuff
We're working front gate at KCRF this year. Just one shift a weekend for the most part. I really like it that way. It's enough time to get to do the stuff we've missed for the last couple of years, and I don't end up feeling like my entire life has been sacrificed to the festival. This is important, because I need all the time I can muster to do things like...
...Steam Stuff
Sewing for SteamCon at the end of October. Which I am really looking forward to, even though planning a short trip to Seattle is proving to be a bit tricky.
...Writing Stuff
Still going, but far too slowly.
...House Stuff
I could really use an entire week off work just to stay home and finish sorting and organizing and be done with it. Doing small tasks every day helps, but it doesn't solve the problem! Also, I can do things like laundry at times other than late evening and early morning.
...Friend Stuff
When a friend from way out of town visits as part of a visiting lecture series, it's nice to know that I won't be too exhausted from festing/festering/performing on the weekend to enjoy seeing him again. No, I'm not being vague -
gmskarka already posted about it here.
Be seeing you.
