Quote of the Day
Feb. 19th, 2007 02:35 pm“I don’t want to start an issue about censorship, but you won’t find men’s genitalia in quality literature...At least not for children."
There is a hot debate going on right now in library-land about this year's Newberry Medal winner, which contains the word 'scrotum' on the first page. Since a lot of children's librarians tend to use the Newberry list as a short-form for books they can recommend to almost anyone, it's causing quite a stir. Of course the scrotum in question belongs to a dog, but sadly, that hasn't had any real effect on the discussion.
