First Post of the Year!
Jan. 23rd, 2007 07:49 amI saved my first post so that it could be this one:
gmskarka is officially cancer free!
For those who came in late, or don't read his journal - he was diagnosed with a thick malignant melanoma on his upper left thigh the first week of this year. Scary! If you want more info, he posted plenty of it. Go. Read.
Men...GO TO THE DOCTOR! Ahem...
His surgery was yesterday, and the news was all good. :D They removed the melanoma and tested several of his lymph nodes, and the tests all came back negative for cancer. Yay! There are plenty of other details, of course, but the important one is that his cancerous cells decided to sit in one place and make a giant, ugly lump on his leg instead of retracting further into his body, so they were easily and completely taken out. If you see me performing Snoopy's happy dance any time in the next week or so, that's why.
He still has plenty of doctor's visits and boredom to look foreward to, since he can't get upstairs to the computer for a few days, but that's news he can live with.
And many, many thanks to all of you lovely people for your kindess, support and comfort while we were busy freaking out.
:D
