The Tudors - Reviewed
Apr. 23rd, 2007 12:35 pmThe Tudors continues to be a fun and exciting romp through history. The latest travesties of costuming have been court ladies dressed like Degas paintings, women wearing side-parted hair under their headdresses, and OFF-THE-SHOULDER court gowns. Oh, and pleather doublets. I have retreated into reading actual histories of the Tudor dynasty as recovery from the wounds inflicted by the inaccuracies presented therein. And, because I just have to say it out loud; ( Here is the difference between actual history and what happened in last nights episode. )
On a lighter note, Jonathan Rhys Meyers continues pretty, and
radcliffe and I have started a “spot the rental costume” game. They tend to be the good ones. It just amuses the hell out of me that the most accurate historical portrayal that I have seen of Renaissance England recently was the one in the Shakespeare episode of Doctor Who.
